All three of the Absorbine UK sponsored riders, Jayne Ross,
Jo Bates and Justin Davies competed at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show at
the Birmingham NEC last week.
Former three time HOYS Coloured Champion, the Humdinger won
the Coloured ridden, native Cob of the Year class for Carol Bardo and Mandy
Hughes, ridden by Jayne Ross.
Jayne enjoyed a busy week at HOYS which resulted
in several placings including, 2nd place in the Large Hack of the Year
with Rosettes Direct’s, Broadshard Simplicity and 2nd place in the
Maxi Cob of the Year with James Woodington’s, Colebourne.
Three horses owned by Diane Stennett from Carol Bardo’s,
Holyport yard and ridden by Jayne were placed at HOYS; Time 2 Reflect, 3rd
in the Lightweight Hunter, Lightweight Cob, Moortown May took 6th
place and another 6th place went to Hello Dolly in the Small Riding
Horse of the Year Final.
Bella Malim’s, Timpanyking took 3rd in the
Heavyweight Hunter, Kay Campbell’s Small Show Hunter, Its After Eight too 3rd
and Carol Bardo’s, The Keystone Cob took 4th in the Heavyweight Cob
of the Year.
Jo Bates returned home to Oxfordshire with 4th
place in the Large Hack class riding Steven Jackson’s, Primitive Dazzler II and
Thriller, produced and ridden by Jo and owned by Alan Lintott took 7th
place in the Large Riding Horse of the Year.

The Popsters Show Team, made up from Justin Davis and Heidi
Bennett who specialise in breeding and showing both in hand and ridden Welsh section
C ponies had a successful week. The team won the Welsh Section C Breeder of the
Year awards at HOYS and took the runner up spot with Popsters Tommy Cockles in
the Welsh Section C ridden Pony if the Year.
